Zazzle is having a lot of sales leading up to Christmas. You can find plenty of unique gifts there, on so many products that it’s hard for the shopkeepers to keep up. It’s a great place to look for creative, one-of-a-kind designs. And in most cases, you can customize everything from color to text to arrangement. I’m happy to be a part of Zazzle for the first time this holiday season. I opened my first shop last Valentine’s Day, but I didn’t really start filling it until this fall. I can’t wait to see how much my stores have progressed by this time next year.

Funny Easter Chick T-Shirts

I have three new Easter designs up in my holiday shop on CafePress. Some of the CafePress stuff can be found in my Zazzle store, too — although it’s not organized very neatly yet. For my next post, I hope to point out others’ designs I like (here are a couple: a funny egg one;  a funny bunny one). Through posting my own, I’m finding a lot of other funny ones. I just signed up for Pinterest and plan on making a board of them. I’ll link to it here when it’s made. In the meantime, here are my 3 new designs, all featuring cartoon chicks & eggs:

Two New Easter T-Shirts

EASTER SHIRT ONE

With Saint Patrick’s Day nearly here, I’ve (reluctantly) put away the leprechaun sketches and started designing Easter shirts. My first draws inspiration from M.C. Escher’s tessellations (images that fit together like a puzzle). It was fun figuring out how to fit the chicks around the bunnies, and how to plant an egg basket right in the middle. EASTER SHIRT TWO

I have to admit, I’m not that passionate about the usual cute Easter bunny stereotype. So, I decided to create an Easter bunny villain. On this T-shirt, Bunnyzilla crushes an egg, squeezes a baby chick in its paw and wields a knife-like carrot. Run for your life! The Easter bunny monster is coming.

NEWEST LEPRECHAUN DESIGN

This is my newest design on CafePress. It’s a picture of a “lepre con” — a tough convict leprechaun getting his mugshot taken. I can’t decide if it’s my favorite or not (every new one I draw seems to be my newest favorite), but my family/friends think this is the funniest yet. See what you think. BRANCHING OUT

I’m also experimenting with other screen-print websites. Zazzle looks good. I’ve tentatively opened a shop there (also called HaHa Holidays), and tried uploading this leprechaun mugshot as my first endeavor, but I have a lot to learn. After finally getting acquainted with CafePress, it will take time to figure out the differences on other sites. I can’t wait to learn, though, because each site offers its own line of products — and I’ve heard Zazzle is good. One step at a time.

HAHA HOLIDAYS

My HaHa Holidays shop focuses on funny designs for every holiday. I’m working my way around the calendar. Right now, you can find Valentine’s Day and Saint Patrick’s Day designs. Here’s a preview:

1. This monster / heart design has been pretty popular in the CafePress marketplace. It’s my top seller so far. I had a lot of fun making it, particularly its sharp teeth and bulging eyes. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, but can be worn all year.

2. This design has sold well, too.  It’s my favorite so-far. I put it in the holiday shop because it would be good for Halloween, but you could wear it all year and it’s really inspired by the Twilight movies and books. Vampires aren’t the only pale, sexy creatures of the night. Albino ‘possums know that.

3. Here’s my newest and favorite Saint Patrick’s Day design… although I have about 15 more I’m creating right now. This poor leprechaun has no luck at all. He’s crushed under a pot of gold, holding shriveled shamrocks and lying in a pool of rainbow blood. Yes, he has the luck of the Irish!
